common or garden cows
Common-or-garden
Meaning: ordinary; unexeptional

Believe it or not, cows were once a familiar sight on the streets of east London. They would be grazed on the common land of Epping Forest in spring to autumn, but would often wander off into the surrounding suburbs where they would get up to all sorts of mischief causing traffic jams and getting into people's gardens.
